Sample Browser is a thin Rust shell over our catalog API. We push a search query (text or audio similarity) to the store-api gateway, stream WAVs over a signed S3 URL, and let the host DAW decide where the file lands. There is no audio processing on the plugin side — no ONNX runtime, no model. The only state we store locally is your search history (encrypted, opt-out in Preferences). When you drag a sample onto your timeline, the file is fetched at the original 24-bit depth, written to your project's Audio Pool, and the license stamp is recorded in a sidecar JSON. The model is good at text-to-audio search and rhythmic similarity; for melodic similarity the larger CLaMP3 server-side search still wins, and you can flip the toggle marked 'use CLaMP3' in Preferences.

The model file is fetched from the SONICHAOS lab CDN and hot-swapped without a plugin reinstall. You can pin a version in Preferences if a session needs to stay bit-stable.
